FAQ’s
Our services are available virtually, allowing us to support more people.
Q: How do we get started?
Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or call us to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll learn about your situation, answer questions, and explore whether coaching is the right fit.
If it is a fit, we’ll send intake forms and a contract.
Q: Who can benefit from individual and family coaching?
Anyone: parents, spouses, adult children, siblings, partners, or close friends.
Q: Is this a one-time session or an ongoing process?
It’s up to you. Coaching is flexible. Some people may want just one session for guidance on a specific issue. Others may want ongoing support for bigger challenges.
Q: What is coaching?
Our coaching is a non-clinical, strengths-based service that supports you — as you navigate a loved one’s mental health journey.
Q: Is coaching a type of therapy?
No. While we are licensed to diagnose, we are not acting in that role. Coaching is not therapy — so we do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.
Q: How do you address caregiver stress and burnout?
Coaching will help you recognize stress, focus on what’s within your control, and build strategies that protect your wellbeing.
Q: How do I help without making things worse?
There’s no single right answer in tough situations. Coaching provides a framework to help you make the best decision for your unique circumstances.
Q: What if my family disagrees on how to handle things?
It’s completely normal for families to see things differently — especially in high-stress situations.
Coaching provides a neutral space where everyone’s concerns can be heard. We work to develop clarity and improve communication. The goal isn’t to “solve” every disagreement, but to find common ground
Q: My family feels like it’s falling apart — is it my fault?
When things feel out of control, it’s easy to blame ourselves — but blame rarely helps. Coaching doesn’t focus on blame. Instead, we help you step back, sort through the chaos, and take meaningful steps forward.
Q: Do you coach the whole family, including the person experiencing mental health challenges?
Yes — sometimes coaching is just for an individual or family members who want to learn new strategies. Other times, it includes the person experiencing mental health challenges.
This isn’t family therapy — it’s coaching, focused on practical strategies to help you move forward.
Q: How can coaching help us navigate the mental health system?
We offer practical education about levels of care, treatment options, how to talk with providers, and ways to advocate effectively. We help you understand where you are in the process, explore your options, and make informed decisions.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.
Q: Can coaching help us prevent future crises?
No one can prevent every crisis. Coaching can help your family be more prepared and avoid crisis when possible.
We will focus on what’s in your control, many people find they can reduce the intensity — or even avoid some crises altogether.
